Climate-ready manufacturing - our environmental efforts

More important steps in the green direction

At Kellpo, a leading supplier of plastic packaging and packaging tools, we take our responsibility to the environment seriously. We have implemented a number of initiatives that reduce our carbon footprint and promote more climate-friendly production. These include:

  • Green power from Danish wind turbines
  • Enterprise-wide resource optimization
  • 50% of our total plastic consumption is recycled
  • Focus on circular economy

As part of our long-term strategy, we will continue to develop and improve our production to ensure an even more resource-efficient and responsible future. At Kellpo, it's not just about delivering quality - it's about doing it in a way that creates value for both our customers and the environment. Read more about our initiatives below.

Shaped for the future

At Kellpo A/S, caring for the environment is not just an ambition, but the core of our daily work. Our commitment is reflected in several key areas. These are:

Less is More

We believe that careful and efficient use of the planet's resources is crucial to reach Denmark's goal of 70% CO2 reduction by 2030.

A key element of our strategy is therefore downgauging of packaging. By reducing the material thickness of our packaging without compromising on quality and durability, we reduce both material consumption and the overall environmental impact.

We practice this philosophy both in the design phase for our mold and Machining customers and in our own approach to packaging production.

Simplify for Sustainability

We see mono-material packaging as the key to a more environmentally friendly future for packaging. By focusing on single-material solutions, we make it easier for consumers to sort correctly and ensure that products can be recycled efficiently.

We believe that simplicity in material selection not only makes recycling easier, but also creates greater transparency and accountability in our overall sustainability efforts.

Our mono-material packaging is also designed with recyclability in mind, making it ideal for a circular economy.

Powered by Renewable Energy

Since 2020, we have taken responsibility for our energy consumption by powering our production with green energy, which is supplied by wind turbines located in Denmark.

In line with our approach to reducing material consumption, we are also constantly working to minimize our power consumption.

We reduce our power consumption by monitoring and upgrading our production equipment on an ongoing basis.

Committed to Recycling

Recycled plastics play a central role in our business and currently account for around 50% of our total plastic consumption.

We continuously work to increase this share in innovative products that have a positive impact in other essential value chains.

An example of this is our production of Hexa-Cover®, which is used to reduce evaporation of drinking water reservoirs by up to 95%.

    Recycling of plastics

We don't stop here. At Kellpo, we work every day to recycle as much plastic as possible for a better purpose.

Our goal is to become even more climate-friendly by finding new ways to recycle plastic without compromising the quality of the product.

Polypropylene (PP) is a clean plastic that is both versatile and durable. It can be recycled multiple times with minimal loss of properties, making it a good choice for more responsible plastic production.
